How to resolve “An error has occurred in the script on this page.” Error when hovering over Power BI within Dynamics GP
So you have done all the good work and you now have Power BI on your Dynamics GP home screen… but then you get this:
Fun stuff… I know. This one drove me crazy! Due to the hard work of the Microsoft GP Team, a solution was made available! A big THANK YOU to Terry Heley and Jodi Christiansen for helping me get to the bottom of this one!
Basically, this is a web browser control issue. Dynamics GP is set to run on IE10 Standard Mode. Power BI had some changes that made it incompatible with IE10. Due to this, a registry change is needed in order to get rid of this bugger. The change switches the web browser control to run on IE11 standard mode.
Follow these steps to remove the error
Step 1: Open Registry Editor
Step 2: Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMainFeatureControlFEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
There should be an entry for Dynamics.exe with value of 0x00002710 (10000)
Step 3: Double click on Dynamics.Exe and change the value to 2af8 (Hexadecimal) or 11000 (Decimal)
Step 4: Restart GP and the error no longer shows! THANK YOU GP TEAM!!!
Thanks for reading!
